RESEARCH


In the field of participatory action research with emancipatory perspectives, the Society for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies has made a major contribution with completion of the following major research/ studies and among such completed research/ studies projects include:

1. The Teaching of Disability Studies in Indian Universities and Academic Institutions: A Study of Trends and Issues (commissioned by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India);
2. Employment Rights of Disabled Women in India: A Study of Compliance and Impact of the Persons with Disabilities Act with Special Reference to UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu (commissioned by National Commission for Women, Govt. of India);
3. Employment of Persons with Disabilities in Public Sectors in India -- Emerging Issues and Trends: An Evaluation Study with Special Reference to Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995?Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal (commissioned by Planning Commission/ Govt. of India).
4. Empowerment of Disabled Youth and Adolescents in India : A Study with Special Reference to North Eastern and Hilly States (covering Twelve I Indian states--Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura (commissioned by Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India).
5. Disability, Human Rights and Social Justice in India wityh Special Reference to Andhra Pradesh and Bihar (commissioned by ICSSR, MHRD/ India);
